Since 1999 I work at a more visual means of expression:
Mirror images. As with the water color / fabric images are two different materials and/or image carriers, the pictorial whole. (How's our whole life is determined by contrasts, from pole and polar opposite, such as light and dark ...)
Here the worked over mirror screen makes reference to the underlying picture, which - depending on the topic - is decorated with different techniques/materials.
Mirrors are in our surroundings, familiar objects of everyday life. We are accustomed to the fact that the shining surface "throws back" everything in front of it and we are also used to orientate ourselves into this "thrown back" picture.
However, something possibly is behind each mirror... Therefore, I "open" the mirror in order to look "behind it". The respective topic unfolds in a “dialogue” between the motionless forms of the mirror and the vision created by me in the back – or underground.
Furthermore, these pictures respond in unusually intensive ways with the surrounding area: everything which occurs in the area, every movement, every change of light appears also in the picture.
Moreover the observer can decide whether he wants to let himself be pulled into the picture-event (through the reflection) or whether to retreat. You could call these pictures "interactive".
